Call Immediately — Electrical Emergencies
Burning smell from power points, switchboard, or ceiling — potential arcing fault or overheating wiring. Get out if the smell is strong. Visible sparking from a switch, power point, or fitting. Water contact with electrical systems — flooding or roof leaks reaching electrical wiring. An RCD or circuit breaker that trips immediately when reset and cannot be reset — indicates an active fault on the circuit.
For all of these: turn off the affected circuit at the switchboard if you can safely do so. Don't investigate the fault yourself. Call.
